Joanne M. Hill is a Managing Director and the Head of Global Derivatives and Trading Research at Goldman Sachs, which has repeatedly gained top ranking in industry surveys. She advises institutions in North America on strategies utilizing portfolio trading and equity derivative products, as well as on index-related issues. Joanne has spent over ten years at investment banks (joining Goldman Sachs in 1992) in a quantitative research capacity encompassing asset allocation as well as equity products.
Prior to coming to Wall Street, she was on the finance faculty at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and has published extensively on modern portfolio theory topics, as well as derivatives. She received a Ph.D. and M.B.A. in finance and quantitative methods from Syracuse University, an M.A. in international affairs from George Washington University and an undergraduate degree from American University.
